13 home building steps to your dream home in Maryland

Explain how you are responsible for these steps, unless you use NDI site work program. Express how NDI will help you through the steps.

  1. Write your NDI Homes of Maryland contract
    Let us set up a meeting with you! Our NDI Homes of Maryland sales representative can review our selection of floor plans to find the one that fits your idea of your dream home. We're more than happy to review upgrades and special options to help determine your cost. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the process of building your new home and we're happy to help answer any questions and concerns you may have.

  2. Complete your architectural drawings
    Together with our sales representative, you can make selections and changes to create the perfect floor plan. Choose from a wide range of home styles that can be further customized to meet your needs. Once we've completed your checklist, we're ready to transfer this information to our architect for the final architectural drawings to be drafted.

  3. Make your loan application
    NDI Homes of Maryland can direct you to a NDI Homes of Maryland preferred lender that is experienced and interested in this type of loan.

  4. Have an engineer do your site plan
    We're happy to help guide you in the right direction. We have a list of certified engineers that we can provide to you. These are engineers that have performed well for our previous customers. Your NDI Homes of Maryland sales representative will also be on hand should you have any questions regarding this process.

  5. Get your building permit
    You submit the your homes site plan and architectural drawings to your local building permits office along with your application.

  6. Close your loan
    You finalize and close your loan application.

  7. Attend your pre-contruction meeting
    We finalize your homes architectural plans and specs before initiating work on your home.

  8. Site development
    We can help simplify the site work duties by providing you with previous clients' referrals for sub-contractors so that you can contract for clearing, grading, and the laying of utility lines on your property.

  9. Foundation
    Once we start pouring the concrete foundation, your home is on it's way.

  10. Framing and Roofing
    All framing and roofing components are pre-cut with computer precision for quick, accurate assembly.

  11. Plumbing, Electric & Water
    All plumbing and electric systems are installed throughout the framing of you home for easy inspections by officials.

  12. Drywall
    Drywall is installed and you can really get a feeling for the layout of your new home.

  13. Finishing
    The custom touches and colors you select will truly make your home your own.
